FC Zenit Saint Petersburg forward Malcom has been linked with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
FootMercato have reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Malcom from FC Zenit Saint Petersburg in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Liverpool “appreciates” Malcom, who is open to a move to Anfield this summer.
Clubs in Saudi Arabia are looking at the Brazilian as well, according to the report.
FootMercato have added that the former Barcelona star, who can operate as a forward or a winger, is hoping that Paris Saint-Germain renew their interest in him.
PSG reportedly wanted to sign the £108,000-a-week (SalarySport) Brazil international in the January transfer window.
Should Liverpool move for Malcom?
In our opinion, Liverpool should not make a move for FC Zenit Saint Petersburg forward Malcom in the summer transfer window.
Yes, Malcom is a very good player and is still only 26.
The Brazilian’s best years are ahead of him.
And he scored 23 goals and gave seven assists in 27 Russian Premier League matches for Zenit last season.
However, Liverpool do not need another winger or wide forward.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has enough attacking players at his disposal.
There is no need for Liverpool to sign another player who is not a natural number 9.
And while Malcom is doing well in Russia, we should not overlook the fact that he could do not make a massive impact with Barcelona in La Liga.
