The France captain’s future at Paris Saint-Germain remains a hot topic, having entered the final year of his deal at the Parc des Princes. In June, Mbappe informed the club of his decision to not take up the optional year in his contract, leading him to be frozen out of PSG’s first team plans. He has since been linked with moves to a number of clubs, including Chelsea , who have been touted with a player-plus-cash deal

It has been widely reported that PSG will refuse to play Mbappe throughout the upcoming season if he refuses to sign a new deal and allows himself to become a free agent. The French club are said to believe that Mbappe, 24, has already agreed a move to Real Madrid.

The superstar forward was the subject of a world-record £258million bid from Al-Hilal but Mbappe turned down the one-year offer from the Saudi Arabian side. The tussle between Mbappe and PSG has taken another turn, with the player informing the club that he will not be leaving Paris this summer.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano explained that Mbappe has turned down PSG’s latest contract proposal. “I can confirm today that Mbappe said no to the final desperate proposal from Paris Saint-Germain,” he told Caught Offside .

“PSG will continue to keep the player out of the first-team squad, training with players who are out of the project.”

sky sports has reported that Mbappe has been dissatisfied with the club’s transfer plans. It is claimed that the 24-year-old was informed that PSG would be signing both Robert Lewandowski and Bernardo Silva in the transfer market.

Meanwhile, PSG appear to have doubled down on their intention to keep the forward out of Luis Enrique’s side. Replica Mbappe shirts are reportedly no longer available from the club shop and his likeness is being removed from outside the stadium
