Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is reportedly ‘close’ to signing for Nottingham Forest, with the player ‘pushing’ for a move.
It is set to be a busy few days for City as the summer transfer deadline approaches. Both incomings and outgoings are expected at the King Power Stadium between now and Friday’s 11pm deadline, with Enzo Maresca continuing his rebuild of the squad.
The 26-year-old has been with the club since joining from Genk in January 2017. He has been a regular in the team since then, but has recently struggled to find his top form as City suffered relegation last season.
The midfielder has started all five games in all competitions so far this season, scoring in the Carabao Cup win over Burton Albion. He is, however, being asked to play a different role to usual under new manager Maresca, and has competition for his place from Chelsea loanee Cesare Casadei, with some fans calling for the youngster to start ahead of him.
Ndidi has played a total of 242 times for City, scoring 12 times and providing 12 assists. Those appearances have included appearances in the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League, as well as being part of the first City team to lift the FA Cup.
