Rangers have been pointed in the direction of reported £10m Sevilla attacker Oussama Idrissi following his surprise release from the La Liga side.
Whilst there is nothing to suggest Rangers are interested in the Moroccan international, 27, Football Scotland have mooted the free-agent forward as a potential Ryan Kent replacement
It come after comments from Michael Beale about a failure to replace the Fenerbahce-bound winger in the summer window.
The report named Oussama Idrissi as one of five potential post-window transfer targets for Rangers as the club looks to rejuvenate a squad which at present doesn’t appear up to the task.
Whilst Football Scotland acknowledge Oussama Idrissi is reportedly a target in the Saudi Pro League, the suggestion is certainly an interesting one for Rangers fans.
Michael Beale has been clear the club have essentially broken even when it comes to incomings and outgoings this summer with the £13m spent being recycled back into Ibrox.
Oussama Idrissi to Rangers poser
Whilst a hamstring injury kept Oussama Idrissi out of the inspired Atlas Lions’ run in the World Cup in Qatar, the attacker has nine caps for the Morocco national team.
Also costing Sevilla just over £10m (€12m) back in the summer of 2020, bringing the winger from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar, there is sizeable pedigree attached to the attacker.
However, Oussama Idrissi didn’t exactly have the best time in Sevilla and was limited to only 17 appearances across his three years at the club, spending time on loan with Cadiz in Spain and Ajax and Feyenoord in the Netherlands.
Spending last season on loan at the Eredivisie Champions, the winger played extensively with new summer Rangers signing Danilo, who has struggled to get a run of games so far this season.
Any move could be a potential Ibrox reunion of sorts with both players already very familiar with one another.
Interestingly, Sevilla negotiated a deal to release Oussama Idrissi from his contract only last week as the transfer window rolled to a close.
Despite having two years left to run on his deal, Sevilla announced that the winger would be leaving the club with Idrissi now free to strike up a deal elsewhere.
