OGN Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram and his agents are pushing hard for a move to Liverpool this summer.
After announcing the signing of Alexis Mac Allister yesterday, the Reds have now reportedly turned their attention to bringing in Thuram. And according to Football Transfers, they’re making some head-way on the deal.
They claim that having begun talks with the player directly, Liverpool have now reached ‘an agreement in principle’ over a contract. This will be good news for Thuram, who, along with his entourage, is said to have been ‘pushing’ for a move to Anfield.
Having reportedly agreed terms with the 22-year-old, Liverpool are now set to commence talks with Nice. It’s claimed that the French side will hold out for ‘maximum value’ of £55m for Thuram. Safe in the knowledge that Newcastle United are also interested, the Eagles look to be in a strong position.
Jurgen Klopp is said to be a ‘big fan’ of the player, though. As was former Nice boss Didier Digard, calling the France international ‘fantastic’ during his time at the club [RMC Sport]. Having reportedly opted against a move in January, Klopp is now said to be keen to push ahead with a move. And when he wants a player, Jurgen usually ends up getting them.
Here we go, Reds. Klopp promised that Liverpool would be busy in the market this summer, and it looks like the manager was right.
With Mac Allister already tied up, it now looks like the Reds have firmed up their other midfield options.
In the months leading up to the window, there have been a large numbers of names mentioned in connection to Liverpool. With uncertainty over factors like Champions League qualification and whether Jude Bellingham would be brought in, the Reds reportedly had several different lists of targets.
