During the transfer deadline, Nottingham Forest made a concerted effort to recruit Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah. The player will now be free to depart the Blues in January in order to pursue regular first-team action.
Bayern Munich was interested in the 24-year-old throughout the summer. When that deal fell through, Forest made a £25 million bid, which Chelsea accepted before the deadline.
However, Chalobah was not interested in moving to Forest. He elected to stay and battle for his spot at Stamford Bridge, despite the fact that he has yet to appear in any of Mauricio Pochettino’s squads during the 2023/24 season.
Chalobah, a Forest target, is expected to leave Chelsea in January.
This information comes from noted journalist Fabrizio Romano. He currently believes that talks with Bayern could resume, but he believes the competition to land him is wide open.
The gamer is currently counting down the days until the new year. He’ll be eager to get out there and play some football, and it’ll be interesting to see where he goes when the window reopens.
Forest have moved on from center-back.
When called upon, Forest target Chalobah has shown to be a very important player for Chelsea. Rio Ferdinand described him as ‘unbelievable’ in 2019, and he was quite impressed with the player who generally plays at center-back.
Forest, on the other hand, seemed to have moved on from Chalobah. The club moved quickly to sign Murillo and Andrew Omobamidele before the deadline, and the former has performed admirably since joining the team.
It’s difficult to imagine Forest signing another center defender in January. As a result, Steve Cooper may be willing to park this deal, with rival clubs fighting for his signing.
