Daniel Farke almost has a clean bill of health heading into the next period of Championship fixtures. Leeds United have been buoyed by the return of Willy Gnonto and Jamie Shackleton for their clash with Norwich City this weekend.
However, not everyone came through the international break unscathed with Leo Hjelde a doubt for the clash with the Canaries. Farke revealed the Whites defender had picked up an Achilles injury while away with Denmark.
Stuart Dallas, Junior Firpo and Djed Spence are continuing their injury rehabilitation and the Leeds United boss has given updates on all three. Ahead of the 3pm kick-off, here is a look at the current state of Leeds United’s injury and suspension list.
Leo Hjelde
The Leeds United boss says Leo Hjelde is a doubt having picked up an Achilles problem over the international break.
What Farke said (October 19): “The only question mark is with Leo Hjelde, he has some problems with his Achilles, but that’s the only question mark. Obviously we had the guys fully back today but also some of them, I couldn’t involve them in team training, they need recovery.
“The only session we have before the Norwich game, all together with the whole team will be tomorrow before we travel. It’s always a bit tricky during the international break but it is how it is.”
Junior Firpo
Junior Firpo has also been absent for the whole campaign so far and is still a few weeks away after targeting the October international break for a return.
What Farke said (October 19): “Junior Firpo is back in team training with us since Tuesday. He was part of the group on Tuesday, he had a full session yesterday.
“Today he just trained individually because he was out for four or five months, so we have to be careful a bit, but he’s part-integrated in team training which is good. The next step is that he can join us for the full training week and then definitely needs a few weeks to be ready and to be available, so it’s definitely not a topic for Norwich or whatever so it will last a couple of weeks.
