Crysencio Summerville is a wanted man after he scored a brace for Leeds United in their win over Norwich on Saturday, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing via his personal X account on Saturday (21 October), Romano reported that Summerville, 21, rejected multiple opportunities to leave Elland Road in the summer to be a key player for the Championship club.
It is understood that Bournemouth, Burnley and Everton are all keen on the Netherlands Under-21s winger.
Now, Romano reports that after Summerville’s match-winning performance at Carrow Road, Premier League clubs are starting to monitor his progress ahead of the January transfer window.
Nip it in the bud
Leeds cannot let Summerville become unsettled because he’s been in superb form in recent weeks.
In his last three Championship appearances, the former Feyenoord forward has scored three goals and supplied one assist to help the Whites pick up nine points.
He was in incredible form at Carrow Road on Saturday as he helped Leeds come from 2-0 down against Norwich to win 3-2 with goals in the 77th and 85th minutes.
It’s not the first time Summerville has shown his match-winning capabilities late on in a game for Leeds so as long as he’s in the side, Daniel Farke’s men have a better chance of winning promotion.
Leeds are currently third in the Championship, six points behind second-placed Ipswich.
If Summerville rejected the chance to leave in the summer when things were up in the air, why would he leave in January when it looks as though we have more of a chance of promotion?
Premier League clubs can monitor all they want but Leeds should try and nip this in the bud and get the Dutchman tied down to a new contract.
