Rangers are in contract talks with young Northern Irish winger Ross McCausland amid transfer interest from clubs in England.

That’s according to Belfast Live, who claim that whilst Rangers are in talks with extending the 20-year-old’s contract, there is currently no deal on the table at Ibrox.

As things stand, Ross McCausland is currently set to be out of contract at Rangers next summer with the report suggesting the Ibrox side currently value the attacker at £300m

It comes with the Northern Irish youth international breaking through into the Rangers first team as of late, the winger appearing as a substitute in the club’s last three matches.

This includes in the weekend’s 4-0 win over Hibernian, with Belfast Live claiming that new manager Philippe Clement sees Ross McCausland as “part of his long-term plans at Ibrox“.

Reports last week had suggested that the Belgian coach was readying a new contract offer for Ross McCausland but as things stand the winger is still without an offer.

With five Rangers appearances now under his belt, Ross McCausland was also in B Team action over the weekend and even managed to score in a 3-2 defeat to Icelandic side Breidablik.

It’s all contributing to a crucial moment in young Ross McCausland’s Rangers career with a contract offer from Ibrox surely now imminent.

Rangers have a range of young talents bulking out their squad with high hopes for several in the Ibrox ranks making the grade at the club.

Ross McCausland is one of the standout youth performers but there is also the likes of Bailey Rice, Zak Lovelace and Cole McKinnon knocking on the door.
