Leeds United midfielder Lewis Bate received punishment for turning down a club summer transfer offer.
Leeds’ crop of young players at the moment are gathering a lot of positive attention as they star in the Championship promotion race.
In midfield, Archie Gray has shot up the pecking order to start most weeks, but it has had a significant consequence on Lewis Bate’s opportunities meanwhile.
Bate has made just one appearance this season in the senior setup under Daniel Farke, coming off the bench late on against Shrewsbury Town in August.
Football League World have reported now that the 21-year-old was subject to transfer offers aplenty in the summer window, which Leeds turned down all of them to keep him at Elland Road.
The report claims that Bate was under the impression that he would be given a “fair crack” under Farke since his appointment, but has been left disappointed at the complete absence of opportunities this season, as he is “desperate” to play for the club.
