Everton won’t be making Jack Harrison’s loan move permanent following the Toffees’ points deduction for breaking financial fair play rules, according to reports.
Sean Dyche’s side do not have a mandatory obligation to purchase the winger following the conclusion of his loan to the Merseyside club, but Harrison does reportedly have a release clause that can be activated in January.
Last week’s historic ten-point deduction, the largest sanction in the league’s history, was labelled as ‘disproportionate’ by Dyche and has seen his side drop to 19th in the Premier League table, five points from safety following Luton Town’s win over Crystal Palace this weekend.
The punishment has reportedly changed the club’s approach to the January transfer market and could see Harrison return to Elland Road in the summer with the Premier League strugglers unlikely to pursue a permanent move in the winter.
Since returning from a hip injury at the end of September, Harrison has started in five of Everton’s last six matches, grabbing one goal and picking up three assists. He has a chance to further add to his tally this afternoon as the Toffees welcome Manchester United to Goodison Park.
