This weekend’s match between Leeds United and Middlesbrough at Elland Road was one of the most chaotic in all of English football.
In Daniel Farke’s team’s 3-2 victory, there were five goals, one sent off, and numerous missed opportunities on both sides. However, Joe Rodon, the center of the Whites’ backline, gave another masterful display of composure in the midst of the mayhem.
The Welsh international, who found a teammate with 99% of his 96 attempted passes—including nine balls into the final third in an incredibly composed display in possession—completed more passes than any other player on either side.

The 26-year-old was equally outstanding when not in possession, taking the lead in three of his five faceoffs. Though he did win his lone tackle of the game, his best work may have been an outstanding goal-line clearance that ultimately gave the Whites all three points.
Rodon’s performances in a white shirt this season have greatly impressed Leeds United supporters, and it’s safe to assume that his teammates have also been astounded by the impact the Tottenham loanee has made at Elland Road.
