The heated confrontation between Los Angeles Lakers’ star LeBron James and Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka resulted in Udoka being ejected Saturday night. Rockets’ forward Dillon Brooks blamed the referees for allowing the incident to get out of hand during the Lakers’ 107-97 win.
“I tried to push LeBron out (of) the way from it, but the refs just let it get out of hand,” Brooks told reporters Monday. “A terrible group out there that was reffing, and they lost control of the game. It’s very inconsistent. That’s what you get from inconsistent refs, a whole bunch of nonsense.”
James appeared to be upset with the salty language Udoka directed toward the Lakers regarding what he felt was their constant complaining. James walked toward Udoka and the two exchanged words before referee J.T. Orr got between them. Udoka and James continued jawing at each other before Orr issued technical fouls to each player. Udoka, who had received a technical foul in the first half, was ejected.
