The Mets would be better off with Soto in place. With its tremendous financial resources, New York could easily afford to hire him. The 25-year-old, who is still relatively young, is among baseball’s top players.
Although he will play for the Yankees in 2023, there is a potential he will sign with another team in free agency. If the Mets participate in the sweepstakes at all, don’t be shocked.
