Kaizer Chiefs may be about to revamp their goalkeeping department for the next season.
Chiefs are believed to be ready to part ways with long-serving goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune at the end of the season.
That means of the current crop, Chiefs will be left with Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen. The club recently offered both contract extensions, signalling their intent to have them competing for years to come. Amakhosi also have young Takalani Mazhamba who is highly rated in the club’s structures. The 16-year-old is also believed to be on the radar of Mamelodi Sundowns, however.
CHIEFS ON THE LOOK OUT FOR A NEW GOALKEEPER
So in a scenario where Chiefs could lose both Khune and Mazhamba, the club may need to sign two keepers. Already it is well documented that they’re searching for a goal minder that can come in and be their number one straightaway. Different names have been thrown around in that regard, including Stanley Nwabali, Salim Magoola and Sage Stephens.
