Sky news: Oklahoma Sooners football program loses another member of their staff but one that was long anticipated

The Oklahoma Sooners have now lost three pretty crucial staff members. But, the good news is, if you want to look at it this way, this move was anticipated to happen for a while. But, it was always a matter of when it would happen this offseason, not if it would happen.

In addition to losing defensive coordinator Zac Alley and assistant general manager Chuck Lillie to West Virginia, the Sooners have now lost their football programs’ general manager Curtis Lofton, as he announced via Facebook.

Curtis Lofton, once a celebrated linebacker for the Oklahoma Sooners, has carved out a new path as the inaugural General Manager for the OU football team. Post-college, Lofton enjoyed an eight-year stint in the NFL with teams including the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, and Las Vegas Raiders, but when they were in Oakland. Returning to OU in 2022, he initially took on the role of director for OU Football’s SOUL Mission, where he concentrated on player development and served as a mentor.
