Sporting Lisbon reportedly fear Liverpool are the strongC to sign Brazilian youngster Andre, who has been linked with a move to both clubs this summer.
According to Record, the Portuguese giants were keen on signing Andre but have since switched their attention to other midfield targets due to Liverpool’s interest in the 21-year-old, with the youngster a target for the Reds.
Labelled as a ‘dynamic’ midfielder by Breaking The Lines, Andre’s reputation has exploded in the last 12 months after a string of good performances for Brazilian side Fluminense, with a move to Europe now likely in the coming days.
Liverpool are one side who have been linked with Andre, yet this latest update seems to confirm that the Reds could be closer to signing the youngster than first intended.
Indeed, Liverpool are potentially in the market for a fourth midfield signing with Romeo Lavia expected to join Jurgen Klopp’s side before the start of the new Premier League season.
And Andre could be a fantastic addition, especially with a European rival in Sporting now having a feeling that the midfielder looks set to move to Anfield this summer.
Andre has shown in Brazil in the last 12 months that he’s a talent of exceptional quality, and a move to the Premier League with Liverpool could be ideal for all parties involved.
The Reds are in need of midfield recruitments having sold Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in recent weeks, and Andre could be a great addition considering his profile and age.
With Fluminense unlikely to demand a monstrous transfer fee, as well, a deal could be done to bring Andre to Merseyside, with Sporting now thinking Liverpool could land the midfielder.
