Nottingham Forest have come forward to sign Real Betis’ Luiz Felipe, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The 26-year-old joined the La Liga side as a free agent last summer and established himself as a key figure under Manuel Pellegrini’s orders.
This has seen him attract interest from a few clubs, including Nottingham Forest, AS Monaco and an unnamed side from Saudi Arabia.
Among these, it’s claimed only Steve Cooper’s side have tabled a ‘formal offer’ to sign the centre-back. Their proposal is a ‘little less than’ €20m and this currently doesn’t please Los Verdiblancos, which is why it was rejected.
Mundo say Real Betis are demanding €20m to sanction the Brazil-born Italy international’s sale. The Spanish club have asked Nottingham Forest to raise their offer, if they wish to secure the defender’s services.
The report makes no mention of whether Premier League side are expected to return with a new attempt for the player.
Last month, claims from Spain stated Chelsea and West Ham United have looked at Felipe but the two London clubs didn’t take any steps to sign him.
