Manchester City will look to continue their perfect start to the season when they face West Ham United after the international break.
Goals from Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, and Nathan Ake helped the Sky Blues cruise to a 5-1 victory against Fulham at the Etihad on Saturday.
The Citizens have secured all twelve available points from their opening four league games, despite manager Pep Guardiola being absent for their last two outings.
Guardiola underwent successful back surgery, which meant that assistant Juanma Lillo took charge of the games against Sheffield United and the Cottagers.
Striker Erling Haaland has also continued his own fine form this term, netting six goals in four league games so far.
Now, it seems that the forward will be scoring goals for years to come for the Sky Blues.
According to the Daily Star, Manchester City are set to offer Haaland a huge new contract.
The report claims that the Manchester outfit are planning to double the Norwegian international’s wages to entice him to extend his stay beyond the expiry of his current deal, in 2027.
Haaland, 23, signed for the Citizens from Borussia Dortmund last summer for around £52m after a sublime season for the German giants.
He hit the ground running under Guardiola, scoring 52 goals and providing nine assists across all competitions last term.
The Norwegian broke the Premier League record for the most goals scored in a single season with 36 goals in 35 games.
The striker’s elite marksmanship proved crucial in helping Manchester City secure the treble for the first time in their history.
Haaland is reportedly set to be offered a base salary of £600k a week, which would make him the highest paid player in the English top flight.
