There’s a good likelihood the Los Angeles Lakers may think about hiring a new head coach if they don’t win the NBA Championship this season. Darvin Ham’s poor rotations and lack of real coaching have actively hindered the Lakers this season.
LeBron James has openly discussed overriding Ham’s coaching decisions in late games because it has become so awful. When your best player freely concedes that he is a better coach than you are, that is never a good sign.
The Lakers may decide to part ways with Ham, but that doesn’t mean they’ll bring in a standout head coach to take his position. After all, the obvious choice to succeed Ham is not particularly intriguing and is already setting himself up to be the Lakers’ head coach for the upcoming campaign.
Juwan Howard, the former head coach of Michigan, revealed that he will resume coaching in an interview with Brendan Quinn of The Athletic. The story specifically mentioned that Howard is likely to coach in the NBA.
