Jerome Boateng, the World Cup winner and former Germany international, is currently in Italy for a medical checkup before moving to Salernitana.
Boateng’s contract with Ligue 1 team Lyon expired in June 2023, leaving him a free agent as of right now. The previous two seasons, he had been in France.
Prior to that, Boateng had a stellar ten-year tenure with Bayern Munich, where he and international teammate Mats Hummels formed a formidable center-back partnership.
Boateng won five DFB Pokals, ten straight Bundesliga trophies, and two Champions League championships in 2013 and 2020 while he was a Bavar. Additionally, he was a member of the victorious German team that won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
