The purchase of Divock Origi by Nottingham Forest has been dubbed the most ‘pointless’ transfer of the season by one expert.
According to commentator Don Hutchison, Nottingham Forest’s late purchase for Divock Origi was the most ‘pointless’ deal of the summer window.
The Reds completed a deadline-day loan transfer for the former Liverpool striker, who joined the club on loan from Italian giants AC Milan in the last hours of the window.Origi has yet to start for Forest, however he has appeared as a late substitute in all four Premier League games since joining the club.
Despite a lack of regular game time at Liverpool, where he spent eight years, the striker established a reputation for scoring vital goals. It’s something Forest hopes to emulate this season.
I’m not being cruel, but he didn’t play for Milan.” When I heard Forest were going to buy him, I thought to myself, ‘Well, he’s not going to play there,’ and he hasn’t. So that was a kind of a worst-case scenario turned pointless (transfer).
After completing his move to Forest, Origi described how he had an instant connection with manager Steve Cooper. “I liked it. You can see his efforts and the energy he brings. “I could tell from a distance before I spoke with him,” he explained.
“And when I spoke with him, he told me how he saw me, how he sees the team, and how well he translated the team’s values.” It was simple to grasp. It was a brief talk, but we instantly connected and felt extremely wonderful.”
