AGREED DEAL: Nottingham Forest reach Arsenal ‘agreement’ as Steve Cooper faces transfer decision

The latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as the Reds could be closing in on their third signing of the summer transfer window

Here’s the latest Nottingham Forest news on Tuesday, 8 August, 2023.

Arsenal agreement reached

Nottingham Forest have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner.

The Reds have been trying to recruit a new shot-stopper all summer as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping department. At present, Ethan Horvath and Wayne Hennessey are the only senior goalkeepers in Steve Cooper’s squad.

Forest have been looking to seal a permanent deal for Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson, a loanee at the City Ground last season, but talks remain deadlocked. It is claimed that stumbling blocks have emerged after the Reds’ initial proposal, to loan Henderson again and then sign him on a permanent deal after a certain number of games, was rejected at Old Trafford.

Gibbs-White scored once and assisted three goals for the Young Lions as they won the tournament out in Romania and Georgia. After securing Forest’s Premier League status, and then achieving success on the international stage, it was quite the summer for the former Wolves man.

“It was a special, surreal moment,” Gibbs-White told the Nottingham Forest club website . “To go out there for a whole month away from family and friends and stay focused and win every game throughout the whole campaign, it was just a surreal feeling.

Forest face transfer decision

Nottingham Forest could have a choice of three Tottenham Hotspur players in a potential deal for Brennan Johnson, it has been claimed.

Tottenham are interested in Johnson this summer, with fellow Premier League rivals Brentford also keen on the 23-year-old having made two unsuccessful bids. It could take an offer upward of £50million for Forest to consider a sale, but it now seems there could be a twist on a possible transfer.

According to the Telegraph, Tottenham are “weighing up a bid” for Johnson, and could be set to offer Forest the chance to sign one of three players as part of a deal. One of those names will be of particular interest to Reds supporters.

They report: “Spurs also remain interested in Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson and are weighing up a bid that could involve them offering the Midlands club a choice of Djed Spence, Joe Rodon and Bryan Gil as part of any deal
