Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Miami Heat 109-105 at home on Thursday night, forcing the team out of the top six spots in the Eastern Conference rankings. After the game, though, they received some encouraging news: Tyler Herro is apparently going to play again. In what time frame? as soon as the game against the discouraged Houston Rockets on Friday.
Tyler Herro of the Miami Heat is very close to returning.
Herro is joining the Miami Heat for their forthcoming three-game road trip against the Rockets, who just saw their hopes of qualifying for the postseason blow away after losing to Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Herro hasn’t played since late February due to medial tendonitis in his right foot. The Miami Heat, who are only half a game off of the top six in the East, will greatly benefit if he is able to play against the Rockets and remains healthy.
Herro is averaging 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and a 39.9 percent shooting percentage from outside the arc this season. When he plays his first game back, he might be a little out of rhythm, but soon, he should find his rhythm again.
