As reported by Shams, the Miami Heat have the best chance of signing the four-time $189 million champion.

In the past, high-profile free agents have shown an interest in the Miami Heat. Kyle Lowry, Chris Bosh, Jimmy Butler, and LeBron James are examples of that. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Klay Thompson, the sharpshooter for the Golden State Warriors, is their main target moving forward.

The Heat are one of the teams that Charania thinks will go after Thompson, according to his prediction on The Pat McAfee Show from February 16.

After the season, he will become a free agent. Through Pat McAfee’s X account, Charania stated, “I anticipate him testing the market.” “I would anticipate both the Florida and Los Angeles squads. Klay Thompson might be of interest to a few East Coast teams, in my opinion.

Despite their lengthy history, Charania continued, Thompson’s long-term future with the Warriors is still unknown.

“As of now, he’s going to test the market unless there’s a miraculous extension,” Charania stated. “And I believe the Warriors knew going into the season that his future is uncertain because he will be entering free agency after they decided not to extend him.

Klay has won four championships with the Warriors: in 2015, in 2017, in 2018, and in 2022. In addition, from 2015 to 2019, he was a member of five straight all-star teams. Thompson signed a five-year, $189 million contract with the Warriors, and he is currently in the final year of it.

Thompson’s comeback story is equally impressive. With an Achilles tendon and an ACL injury that kept him out of action for two seasons, Thompson made a successful comeback to the Warriors in 2021–2022.

Delon Wright Is Happy to Be a Part of Heat
Both in the midseason and offseason, the Heat have shown themselves to be a desirable destination for free agents. Delon Wright will join the Heat after the Wizards buy him out, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on February 16 via his X account.
