Luis Sinisterra’s agent has revealed that he wanted his client to leave Leeds United and join AC Milan or Roma in the summer, speaking to SportItalia.
Sinisterra was at Elland Road on deadline day before a late move to Bournemouth materialised as the club feared legal implications due to a release clause issue.
But in an interview with the Italian news outlet (5 October), Simone Rondadini revealed that he was hopeful the Colombia international would get a move to Serie A instead but it didn’t come to fruition.
“As for a deal that hasn’t materialised, I don’t know, because there have been many movements, even if we don’t really know for what reasons there were real possibilities,” he said.
“Of mine, I would have liked to see Sinisterra at Milan or Roma.”
In the end nobody came forward in time or with the right amount, but we settled for a late loan in the end to ensure that there were no distractions throughout the season as we push for Premier League promotion.
Sinisterra is now at Bournemouth and struggling to start games right now, which puts into context exactly why Champions League chasing AC Milan or Jose Mourinho’s Roma side didn’t take the extra step to bring him in.
Ultimately Leeds have done well to get him out of the door but still retain the rights of his value for next summer when he can be moved on properly most likely, with bridges at Elland Road with the fans well and truly burnt down.
