BBC Confirmed: World clasic Nottingham Forest goalkeeper received emotional message from Arsenal……

Former Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash has reflected on his time at the club and what the city means to him three years on from his exit.

Cash signed for Forest as a 17-year-old in 2014, and broke into the first team two years later. He made 141 appearances for the club before joining Aston Villa in the summer of 2020. While at Forest, he won the player of the year award in 2019-20.

Reflecting on his time at Forest, Cash said it was a “dream come true” to make his debut for the club, and said the city still feels like home to him, despite not being from Nottingham.

“It was a dream come true,” Cash told Sky Sports when asked about his Forest debut. “I always say, I’m not from Nottingham, but it feels like home to me really. I was there for seven years. A lot of good memories there. Nothing but good memories.”

Cash played a game as part of the interview, in which he was tested on what he knows about his own career. Cash was asked how many of his 141 games for Forest were wins.

The 26-year-old got pretty close, guessing at 54 victories. The correct answer was 55. He also answered questions about his Forest debut, clearly recalling a 4-3 win over Burton as the moment he first wore the Garibaldi red at senior level.
