Cowboys OC Has High Praise For Rising Player

The Dallas Cowboys had been rolling coming into their Week 9 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In a battle between the NFC East titans, the Eagles were the ones that managed to come out victorious as they beat the Cowboys 28-23.

Dallas kept pace with Philadelphia throughout the afternoon, but the third quarter ended up being their undoing as they gave up 14 unanswered points.

The Cowboys actually had a chance to win the game on their final possession, but penalties forced the offense backward, and they ultimately came up short.

However, there were some positive takeaways for Dallas to hang their heads on.

The Cowboys offensive coordinator had high praise for tight end Jake Ferguson, who was a large part of the offense, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

“He is playing at an elite level. I think he’s just scratching the surface,” Schottenheimer said.

Dak Prescott has relied mostly on CeeDee Lamb for the majority of his passing attempts, which has made Ferguson an underappreciated component of the Dallas passing attack.

For Prescott, Ferguson is a dependable choice in the short and intermediate sections of the field, though.
