After joining on loan from Tottenham, Spence only made one substitute appearance before suffering a knee injury, and Dallas hasn’t played for nearly eighteen months due to a broken femur in May 2022.
However, Farke said that both will resume team training within the next 10 to 14 days, and that Junior Firpo will be ready in the upcoming weeks following his own return to team training.
He remarked, “I hope they can get back soon.”
“Firpo Junior has resumed team training.” In the final phases of his recuperation, Djed [Spence] is working with Stuart [Dallas] one-on-one.
Since Djed has been out for eight weeks, it is understandable that he won’t be ready right away when he rejoins the first squad for training. I’m hoping Djed and Stuart can rejoin the team soon—maybe in ten to fourteen days—and then we’ll see.
With little rotation during the season, there have been concerns about how successfully Farke has utilized Leeds’ sizable roster thus far.
However, when they’re healthy, Firpo, Spence, and Dallas are all probably going to be important players in the manager’s first squad, so their return to fitness can only be viewed as a plus.
Although Spence was a valuable addition and his injury dealt a serious blow to the squad, no one has been able to secure the right-back position since, with Luke Ayling presently ranked behind Jamie Shackleton and Archie Gray, two natural midfielders.
Dallas is a leader, and Firpo would give Sam Byram some natural competition at left defense as well as a genuine attacking danger that would better fit our front-foot style of play than it did in the Premier League.
The team will benefit greatly from having them back and available for selection during the international break, and we can really push for promotion at that point.
Ahead of the Leeds match against Huddersfield, Farke offered an update on Summerville.
