BBC NEWS: Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul Explain How the Jersey Debacle Restricted the Heat Trade

In the NBA, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul never shared a game. But it seems like they had a chance back when they were both players. Paul and Wade talked about their discussions about teaming up with the Miami Heat. But a jersey scandal killed it.

Wade’s YouTube channel was used by Paul and Wade to explain the fiasco. Wade remembered things like this.

We worked out all of these stuff while we were talking about who would get the ball, how we could all play together, and how I could play off the ball. Then someone asked, “So, who is going to wear No. 3?” Stillness. caused CP to be unable to wear No. 3 in Miami, which ruined the entire trade up.

The two then talked about how the chat put a stop to any chance of them playing together. In response to Paul’s suggestion that Wade wear No. 33, Wade said, “No, no, no.” Look, that is our conversation, and I am saying, “That is my number.” “Well, it is my number,” he says.

Although neither side mentioned the exact year, it most likely occurred when Lebron James was a player for the Heat between 2010 and 2014. That most likely occurred in 2011 when Paul asked to be traded to New Orleans.

Gilbert Arenas Claims Heat Considered Trading LeBron James

Chris Paul’s move to Miami was reportedly shelved due to an issue with Dwyane Wade’s jersey, according to former NBA player Gilbert Arenas. Moreover, he asserted that the Heat held conversations about moving LeBron James to New Orleans.
Let us go back to their loss to Dallas in 2010–11. Why did they fall short against Dallas? .. Who had a poor game, (because)? Who was not a good fit for the other two? Thus, it is true that Miami considered trading someone, though not Chris Bosh at the time. Because, at that moment, who was battling for dominance, you know? As per the X account for the show, Arenas stated on Nightcap.

When the Heat lost to the Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals, James did not play up to par. James shot 32.1% from three-point range and 47.8% from the field in six games, scoring 17.8 points on average.

Next season, Paul asked to be traded from New Orleans. Paul ended up with the Clippers after a deal to the Lakers was cancelled.
