BBC NEWS: Everton is circling Willy Gnonto, waiting for Leeds United to depart….

Wilfried Gnonto, a winger for Leeds United, is still eager to leave the Whites before the January transfer market opens, according to Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness).

Due to links to other clubs, the Italy international attempted to force a departure during the summer transfer window. Earlier in the season, he even withdrew from matches against Birmingham City and Shrewsbury Town.

The player’s attempts to finalize his departure ultimately proved unsuccessful, as the Whites made it known at the time that he wasn’t for sale.

The next window opens in January, thus this might be the start of several conflicts between the player and the team.

The player may be eager to demand to leave Elland Road once more this winter, as he doesn’t seem to be interested in playing in the Championship. However, it’s unclear how he will behave after making headlines for being unavailable early in the season.

Despite the early setbacks to his season due to transfer rumors and his choice to withdraw, he was able to record a point in Leeds’ 4-3 victory over Suffolk Town on the road.

That outcome might have encouraged the Whites’ supporters to stick with Daniel Farke after a lackluster 2023–24 campaign.

He has made nine appearances this season and the goal at Portman Road is the only one he has scored. Given that he would have like to have had a bigger impression at a lower level, this will disappoint him.

He did, however, suffer an injury at Hull City, so his season hasn’t gone as planned.
