Although that’s a ridiculous amount of money, the Lakers will probably go to all lengths to achieve their goal.
On the other hand, there are uncertainties over James’s future.
Given his advanced age, it is quite unlikely that he could fulfil the terms of a three-year contract with the Lakers.
In addition, he continues to put up incredible stats, demonstrating that ageing isn’t actually holding him back like it has for many other NBA players.
This would be a wise investment of money if James stays with the Lakers for the full three years and continues to set the bar high for players his age.
Although the finer details of an agreement between the two parties still need to be ironed out, Windhorst’s information indicates that James is keen to stay with the Lakers, which is excellent news for the team.
