Jamie Carragher has stated that he has a close relationship with Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper. The Sky Sports commentator has been asked about Premier League managers, and he likes Cooper.
The well-known expert has been talking about his life while conducting analysis for Sky Sports. He was grilled on everything behind the scenes, and the topic turned to whether or not he knew who the teams are before the formal announcement.
Carragher isn’t concerned about having access to such information. He has, however, stated that he has a strong relationship with Forest head coach Cooper because Cooper coaches his son James.
I’m close with a couple of managers,” he said on the Covering Liverpool podcast. Like Steve Cooper at Forest, but only because he coached James at Liverpool, so I can’t turn around and say, ‘Oh, I’m not speaking to you.
I talk to him every now and again, and if Forest is on Monday Night Football, I might call him. To be honest, I’m not interested in his team selection; I’m more interested in getting an overall sense of how the place feels going into the game.
Sometimes a new signing may come up that I’d like to talk with him before the broadcast, but I’d never ask for his team.
Carragher claims he has an excellent relationship with Forest head coach Cooper.
This is yet another indication that Cooper is a very likeable figure in the football world. He appears to be the type of guy who would give everyone a moment of his time and always speaks good to the press.
Cooper had worked as a coach at the Liverpool academy before joining Forest. It was there that he trained James Carragher, who is now making a name for himself in League One with Wigan.
Cooper is in charge of the Forest, and it is in good hands. He’s now focused on finding a winning formula that can assist Forest improve after adding another 13 players to the club in the summer.
Carragher has praised Forest since they returned to the Premier League. It appears that he has a soft place for Forest at times, which makes sense considering his allegations about Cooper.
