Your morning round-up of the latest Leeds United headlines as the club step up preparations for Saturday’s visit of Watford to Elland Road

Leeds United loanee Robin Koch scored a Europa Conference League winner for Eintracht Frankfurt against Aberdeen on Thursday evening, as no less than four Whites loan players played in European competitions this week. Koch headed a 61st-minute winner for the German side at the Deutsche Bank Park as he continued his solid start to the season.

Elsewhere, Diego Llorente played the full 90 minutes as Roma win 2-1 against FC Sheriff in Tiraspol last night, with Rasmus Kristensen having previously been omitted from the club’s Europa League squad. Marc Roca was back on British soil for his side’s Europa League match at Rangers and played the full match as the Scots claimed a 1-0 win at Ibrox.

Brenden Aaronson was the other Leeds United loanee in European action this week, when he came off the bench after 66 minutes for Union Berlin in their first-ever Champions League game against Real Madrid. The match was goalless when the USMNT was introduced, but an injury-time goal from Jude Bellingham saw the Spanish giants claim a late win.

Leeds United set for changes as Farke forced into defensive call vs Watford

Daniel Farke will be forced into making unwanted Leeds United changes this weekend as the Whites take on Watford at Elland Road. The manager made two alterations to his side to keep things fresh on Wednesday night as Leeds extended their unbeaten run to five games with a hard-fought draw against Hull City.

But, he’ll be forced into more changes this weekend against the Hornets with Joe Rodon set to miss the game through suspension following his sending off at the MKM Stadium. Wilfried Gnonto is rated as a doubt, too, of course, after limping out of Wednesday’s clash after just 21 minutes.

With Leeds looking to secure their first league win on home soil on Saturday, here’s a look at some of the changes Farke will be mulling over.

Daniel Farke breaks with tradition to repair Joel Piroe problem he could see

Sacrifices are commonplace when players are sent off and Joel Piroe was one of those who had to bite the bullet for Leeds United on Wednesday night. The Whites’ top scorer was removed in the 62nd minute before it felt like he had really got going in the match.
