BBC NEWS: Leeds United’s hands January transfer boost as Daniel Farke requires injection of good quality to his side in the new year.

Leeds United are already setting aside funds as a means to prepare for the January transfer window, in case Daniel Farke requires an injection of quality to his side in the new year.

We’re not even at a point in the season where Leeds’ promotion bid has settled down into a clear race against multiple obvious candidates.

Despite that, plans in the Elland Road boardroom are already in place to ensure that Daniel Farke is well backed heading into 2024.

Leeds United finally January transfer reveal is huge news for Daniel Farke’s promotion bid

It has been revealed via Angus Kinnear’s meeting with the Supporters’ Advisory Board that the club are already planning for the January window – per LeedsLive.

Having already signed Joe Rodon, Djed Spence, and Jaidon Anthony on loan this season, the club have two loan spots left in their squad and Kinnear has shared that it was a deliberate decision.

It means that Leeds’ attempts to bring in new players in the new year will see the club likely dip into the loan market for fresh faces, as well as general funds being available to Farke, if needed due to possible injury concerns.

It’s great to see already that we have a blueprint already mapped out for when the new year rolls around in two-and-a-half months’ time.

So long have we stumbled into January without much of a plan to sign players and it has blown up in our face and left us short for the second half of the campaign.

In terms of their plan of attack with these additions, the club have clearly seen that the best way to find the right calibre of players at the right sort of value is through the loan market.

It’s fairly clear that signing players permanently is not a viable route in January, given that fees are inflated or players are free to leave on the cheap for good reason.

Now, it should be up to the board’s revamped recruitment structure to find those players that can help Leeds get over the line in the promotion race.
