As the important transfer windows in Europe and Saudi Arabia are closed, Enzo Maresca and the club needs to take important player talks and decide on their futures, so that a fantastic start to the season can continue also after January, when the transfer rumour ghost appear again.
The team looks more and more settled with players adapting to the style and confidence comes with it, so surely Enzo needs to build on results and trust the first team as he has build it up.
Wilfred Ndidi and Jannik Vestergaard are two players that has enormous routine, grand international careers on going (Ndidi) and on stop (Vestergaaard). Jannik Vestergaard do have special skills, but also needs to play with players in his position and area that complements him, and not the opposite.
Enzo have a grand group of players and winning 4-1 away, having Kelechi Iheanacho, Patson Daka, Conor Coady and Wout Faes on the bench, makes a very solid impression.
Ndidi, back from international duty as Nigeria captain, playing in a four men midfield with Kelechi Iheanacho on the flank in that set up, shows that players are adaptable and can cover multiple positions.
Jannik Vestergaard, if he continues his positive progression, will be back in the Denmark squad very soon, and everyone needs to understand the fact that players playing week in and week out will be raising the bar.
In the summer we are surprised to see that Patson Daka, Kelechi Iheanacho, Jannik Vestergaard and Wilfred Ndidi are still with the club, so hopefully this will continue at least out the season and that rumours of sales in January will be out of the picture as the lot is needed going forward.
For those who believe that you can just go out and replace such quality with other players surely will see that it can be difficult, a return to Premier League, should happen without a total new squad of players being build.
