Bam Adebayo, a player for the Heat, had a very funny suggestion about how to improve his NBA All-Star Game experience.
Millions of fans worldwide are displeased with the NBA All-Star Game as it has turned into a glorified shooting exhibition where players are obviously not giving it their all during the game. Still, it appears that the real players in the All-Star Game are enjoying themselves. But center Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat, who replaced Joel Embiid due to injury and entered the Eastern Conference starting lineup, has a suggestion on how to make the proceedings more enjoyable for himself.
The Heat star, in a post on his official Twitter (X) account, bemoaned that his teammates refused to pass the ball back to him during the East All-Stars’ 211-186 victory.
Adebayo wrote, “Damn They Really Don’t Pass Back In The ASG 😭.”
Bam Adebayo is by far the least skilled player on the East All-Stars roster when it comes to creating shots. The Heat star can make some plays off the dribble, but Miami uses him as a featured option when he does so. His main offensive tools in the All-Star Game are screen setting and dribble handoffs, neither of which really stand out.
He consequently took the fewest shots of any player who suited up—just two—during the All-Star Game. Adebayo’s dearth of shot attempts was a sign of the East All-Stars’ propensity for an offense that relied more on dribbles. While the Western All-Stars, despite their crushing defeat, assisted on 60 out of their 80 made baskets (for an incredible rate of 75 percent, a figure that would lead the NBA), they only assisted on 55 percent of their made field goals (the New York Knicks, the dead-last team in the association in assist rate, is at 56.8 percent).
Bam Adebayo was obviously making a joke when he sent out that tweet. Despite having little effect on the scoring column, he appeared to be having a great time out there. Considering Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier are unlikely to return to the court anytime soon, it won’t be long before Adebayo returns to the Heat and becomes a key component of their offense once more.
