In their rematch with the Denver Nuggets, the Miami Heat had opportunities to take the lead but missed several of them.
In the final seconds of this NBA Finals rematch, the Miami Heat rallied to trim the Denver Nuggets’ advantage to two points after falling behind by sixteen points at the half.
Unfortunately, too many mistakes on both sides allowed the Nuggets to hold off the Heat, resulting in a 103-97 loss Thursday night in Denver, even after Jamal Murray missed the second half due to an ankle injury.
After trailing five points at the half, the Heat quickly got closer to matching the score when Jimmy Butler made a 3-pointer on their opening offensive possession. However, the Nuggets answered with seven straight points, five of which came from Michael Porter Jr., who finished with 30 points and tormented Miami.
The Heat trailed by nine again, but they battled back and were only behind two when Terry Rozier sank his game-winning three in the corner after picking Porter’s pocket.
