Leeds United winger Daniel James came off the bench for Wales in their 4-0 win over Gibraltar on Wednesday.
In Wales Online’s post-match player ratings piece, James was handed an 8/10, with the outlet stating he enjoyed a ‘good night’.
With a huge EUROs qualifier to come at home to Croatia on Sunday, Leeds’ Welsh trio that also includes Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu were all handed spots on the bench.
However, James had to be introduced early into proceedings as Ipswich Town’s Wes Burns picked up an apparent arm injury that meant he was unable to continue.
In a young, much changed team, Wales dominated their opponents in Wrexham to take a 4-0 lead into the break, which is also how it finished at full-time.
James enjoys good night for Wales
Given the calibre of opposition they were up against, Wales Online kept their player ratings piece brief, with James receiving some praise for his display.
They wrote Daniel James – (on for Burns 15) – Two assists off the bench. A good night – 8.
Regardless of who they were up against, another two assists to add to James’ tally this season can only be good for his confidence when he comes back to Leeds.
The 25-year-old has now registered six assists already so far this term, with four of those having come for the Whites, despite missing some of the campaign through injury.
It is also positive for Leeds that both Ampadu and Rodon got rests on Wednesday night following a busy schedule at club level, and ahead of a huge game at the weekend.
