Throughout his illustrious career, LeBron James has undoubtedly been a generationally great player on several teams. However, on Tuesday, a “what-if” regarding his career surfaced, which he addressed on social media.
It’s debatable which squad James performed best for. With every squad he has ever played for, he has taken home championships. Having said that, the majority of his supporters would probably contend that his best years were spent with the Miami Heat.
It’s certainly arguable which team that James played best on. He has won championships with every team he has ever played for. That being said, most fans would likely argue that the best years of his career came while he was a member of the Miami Heat.
James played for the Heat for four seasons from 2010-2014, where he won two NBA championships in 2012 and 2013 before returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015.
The 21-year NBA veteran got his first taste of success with the Heat alongside Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. But how would his career have gone if he never ended up leaving the Cavaliers and joining the Heat in 2010?
When Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald questioned James about this situation, he said he would have been “just as dominant” if he hadn’t been a member of the Heat.
That might be the case after all. In all honesty, James was a dominant player as soon as he set foot on an NBA court.
Whether James would have won as many NBA titles had he not joined the Heat is the true question at hand. And James acknowledged that if he hadn’t moved to Miami, he might not have had as much success as a team.
In response to the inquiry, James replied, “You**** right, I would still be.” SELECTED IS ME! Nothing is altering that! Maybe fewer rings, but all the way through, DOMINANT.
