Nino and Andre Trindade are “about to leave” Fluminense, and it appears that Fulham and Nottingham Forest of the Premier League are leading the chase to sign the Copa Libertadores winners.
Thankfully, Fluminense has a lot of experience selling and swapping out star players.
In recent years, players such as Richarlison, Gerson, Luiz Henrique, Kaiky, and others have chosen to leave the Brazilian giants for a fresh challenge across the Atlantic. The South American champions may need to draw on this experience as captain Nino and midfield virtuoso Andre Trindade approach their January moves to England.
Globo Esporte reports that Nottingham Forest is expected to sign Fluminense captain Nino, who has a £6 million release clause in his contract. Meanwhile, in what looks to be The Cottagers’ biggest transfer coup since Joao Palhinha—the player Andre may eventually replace—arrived in West London from Sporting Lisbon, the Brazil international Andre appears to be headed to Fulham.
Fulham and Nottingham Forest are closing in on deals.
We’ll put a lot of effort into exits. There will not be a lot. The sporting director of Fluminense, Paulo Angioni, tells the Charla Podcast, “I think the departures will happen quickly.”
“Players Nino and Andra are set to depart.”
The MLS team Orlando City’s Antonio Carlos seems destined to take Nino’s place at the center of La Flu’s defense.
Angioni continues, “Fluminense is getting ready for a maximum of two sales.” We shall thus endeavor to replace them. So far, only Antonio Carlos has arrived. This transaction has started.
