Lingard spent much of the summer training on his own amid reports linking him to clubs in Saudi Arabia. But he has most recently been working with former club West Ham, where coaching staff have hinted at the possibility of a deal.

But they might now face competition for the ex-England international, with Sky Sports reporting that Wolves are “showing an interest” in the former Forest man. It’s said they could make him an offer in the coming days.

Upon leaving Forest back in May, Lingard posted on Instagram: “Thank you to everybody from the fans to all the back room staff and of course the players. Been a rollercoaster journey but we stuck together through thick and thin and achieved our goal. It’s been a pleasure.”

Lingard made 17 appearances for Forest in the Premier League last season, failing to record a single goal or assist in the top flight. He did score twice and set up another two in three EFL Cup games, however.
