Andre Ayew celebrates Nottingham Forest's win over Brighton and Hove Albion

Premier League side Sheffield United are considering offering former Nottingham Forest forward Andre Ayew a contract following his exit from the City Ground this summer, according to reports.

The 33-year-old joined Forest on a free transfer a year ago, but left the club at the end of his contract this summer. He featured in 13 Premier League games as Forest retained their place in the league for the current season.

Ayew has been on the lookout for a new club since leaving the City Ground, but is yet to find a new home. Reports now suggest he could be given another chance in the Premier League.

According to TEAMtalk , newly-promoted Sheffield United are considering offering the forward a short-term contract in order to add some more Premier League knowhow into their squad. Being a free agent, Ayew is able to be signed outside of the transfer window.

The Blades won promotion to the Premier League via a second placed finish in the Championship at the end of last season. They have one point from their opening four games of the campaign, one of the losses coming at the City Ground when Chris Wood’s late goal gave Forest all three points.

Ayew has made a total of 102 Premier League appearances, scoring 21 goals. He has previously played for West Ham United and Swansea City, as well as Turkish side Fenerbahce and French club Marseille.
