The 22-year-old sustained a hamstring injury in Forest’s last victory over Chelsea on September 2nd.
Danilo has recently been photographed in training, but no comments have been made about his fitness.
Cooper, on the other hand, stated that the midfielder is back in training but has not set a timeline for his return to first-team action.
Cooper stated in his pre-match press conference yesterday that Danilo will not play this weekend, but that he is back in training
“Danilo is back in training, not quite full training, but he’s not far away.”
Danilo’s injury against Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea came at a bad moment for the ‘gifted’ 22-year-old, who had begun to show signs of his form from previous season.
The midfielder had an incredible run at the end of last season, scoring in three consecutive Premier League appearances.
When he returns to the first-team squad, he may find it difficult to unseat any of the current midfield trio.
Ibrahim Sangare, Orel Mangala, and Nicolas Dominguez have all been in excellent form, with Danilo having a difficult job in regaining his starting spot.
