BBC News: Steve Cooper set last moves for 24-year-old star as Forest complete midfielder deal…

Steve Cooper was a big fan of Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams but one factor tempted Nottingham Forest to pull out of a possible transfer. The Reds were keen on the American during the window but instead looked elsewhere.

According to The Athletic, the Forest head coach is a huge fan of Adams. He was keen to bring him to the City Ground before he eventually switched from Elland Road to Bournemouth.

Adams spent a lot of last season injured as Leeds suffered relegation from the Premier League. He made just 26 appearances for the Whites and didn’t play during their disastrous end-of-season run that sealed their fate.

His injury problems would end his chances of signing for Forest. Adams nearly ended up at Chelsea, with the Blues pulling out after something was picked up during his medical and Forest were sceptical over his fitness too.

Although Cooper was a big fan, he too remained unconvinced over his fitness record. The player has yet to recover from the injury sustained last season and is still awaiting his Bournemouth debut.
