BBC News: Striker made Encouraging off-field emerges as he seek six important agreements….

Leeds United have set up a drive to strengthen their scouting structure with a new head of recruitment sought as well as scouts to work across Europe.

The Whites have done very well to oversee massive changes from top to bottom at the club following relegation and stick the landing in the Championship relatively well.

Daniel Farke’s side have gelled very well so far with new signings all fitting the bill at Elland Road, but off-field work must continue.

With Nick Hammond only taking an interim football advisory role in the summer, he won’t be around too much longer, meaning the club’s short-term restructure has paved the way for long-term changes.

A string of vacancies have been confirmed by the club today, with a notice being shared as the club look for a new head of recruitment to work under the 49ers and Paraag Marathe.

LeedsLive have shared further insight into the news that the club are now pursuing an appointment for this position, working closely with Gretar Steinsson and Farke:

“Now, the Whites want a new head of recruitment, along with scouts across the UK and Europe in the next phase of the football department’s restructure. When Steinsson was unveiled, chief executive Angus Kinnear also confirmed a broader management tree at Elland Road.

Furthermore, the club have posted for applications to come in for UK-based scouts, as well as ones for Europe as well – while underlining the club’s willingness to used data-driven models to support their scouting.

The head of recruitment is the main thing to look at here, because that could make or break the project we have bubbling away.

Appointing someone as impressive as the likes of Brighton, Brentford and other impressive clubs have done would be something that could transform us.

The scouts that follow are almost certainly going to be strong additions, given the size of the club and who we could attract.

Goals from summer signings Joel Piroe, Sam Byram and Jaidon Anthony ensured a dominant display on a comfortable afternoon in front of the home support at Elland Road, a win which puts them amongst the top six on 13 points.

Farke will have been absolutely delighted at the form of his attacking stars right now but it was another game in which he made a brutal call on Gelhardt who was forced to watch his teammates shine without him.

The former on-loan Sunderland star enjoyed a fair run of games to start out the campaign back in the English second division, featuring in all of their first four games, registering just one goal in the EFL Cup win over Shrewsbury [SofaScore].

Now, it appears as though the forward has now fallen well down the pecking order under new boss Farke with the German preferring Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter as his preferred options in attack, and rightly so after their terrific form.

It’s been a mixed time for Gelhardt since he arrived at Elland Road from Wigan Athletic three years ago after breaking onto the scene with some impressive performances for the Lancashire club and emerging as one of the hottest prospects outside of the Premier League.
