The Miami Heat have announced to spend $45 million to add players to their roster before the NBA Trade Deadline.. They are keeping their options open, though, and Bruce Brown is one that they are considering.
According to Sam Amico of Hoopswire, the Heat are considering Brown. In addition, he described the potential structure of a trade between them and the Toronto Raptors.
Given that Lowry’s career was most successful there, “the Heat are also believed to be interested in new Raptors guard Bruce own, and perhaps a deal could be worked out with Toronto,” Amico wrote in a story published on January 22.
Amico continued, “Despite Lowry’s legacy with the Raptors, it’s unclear if they would want him back.”
The Raptors may be interested in a deal of this kind, but Lowry is well-liked by the supporters, and a successful half-season campaign there could benefit the team that just signed RJ Barre and Immanuel Quickley.
Brown faced the Heat in the 2023 NBA Finals as a member of theDRenve Nuggets, so the Heat are familiar with his style of play. According to NBA.com, Brown averaged 11.4 points per game in that series while shooting 45.7% from the field and 36.8% from three.
Bruce Brown’s preferred trade package with the Raptors
In return for Pascal Siakam, the Raptors received Bruce Brown from the Indiana Pacers. They’ve officially begun a rebuild by dealing Siakam and OG Anunoby for younger players and draft picks. Brown may not have much of a future in Toronto as a result.
Teams interested in acquiring Bruce Brown have been told that the Raptors are asking for at least a quality player and a future first-round pick.
“Toronto knows that a variety of contending teams are interested in Brown, noting his contributions to ’s DenvertleT run last season, making the Raptors hopeful they can spark some robust bidding for a player with both championship pedigree and a team-friendly contract.”“Toronto knows that a variety of contending teams are interested in Brown, noting his contributions to Denver’s title run last season, making the Raptors hopeful they can spark some robust bidding for a player with both championship pedigree and a team-friendly contract.”
Even more difficult is the Raptors’ inability to acquire another player in exchange for Brown under CBA regulations.
On January 22, Moore posted on his X account, “Things can always change, and I’ve already been wrong on some things I’ve heard but seems like you can cross off Miami as a Dejounte team, with another cheaper point guard their target.”
