BBC NEWS: Wayne Rooney finally seal agreement for Leeds United ace in near future as he embarks on Birmingham journey….

However, they reported that Larsson said “no bids have appeared yet” and that the 21-year-old still has four years left on his deal.

Leeds United and FC Copenhagen are reportedly two of the clubs keeping tabs on Mjallby starlet Noel Tornqvist but the club’s sporting director Hasse Larsson says no bids have been received.

Swedish outlet fotbollskanalen (12 October) reported that the Whites and the Danish giants – who are in this season’s Champions League – have scouted the Sweden Under-21 goalkeeper.

It was also reported Larsson stated that two Dutch clubs are also keeping tabs on Tornqvist, while inquiries have been received though it was not specified who by.

Karl Darlow arrived from Newcastle United in the summer and it looked at first as though he would be a direct replacement for first-choice stopper Illan Meslier.

However, the Frenchman did not secure a move away from Elland Road and has been a regular presence between the sticks for Daniel Farke’s side this season, with Darlow having to settle for a back-up role.

So, the links to the Tornqvist do not make particular sense on first reading. But it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Meslier leaves, whether that be in January or in the summer.

That means more back-up would be needed for Darlow and a younger, hungrier option pushing to make a breakthrough would represent a great option.

It is hard to know at this stage how concrete the interest is but it is one to monitor as the January window approaches.
