The NBA trade deadline is quickly approaching, and speculation about trades is beginning to intensify. The Los Angeles Lakers are among the most talked-about teams in the gossip world following a lackluster first half in which they did not appear to be a contender for the championship.
D’Angelo Russell is the player who has been mentioned the most in relation to Lakers trade proposals. Since Russell re-signed in the summer, it has felt like a trade was inevitable, and for many others, it was just a matter of time.
Dejounte Murray is the main player the Lakers have their eye on. But according to reports, the Atlanta Hawks do not want to include Russell back in the deal, which puts pressure on the Lakers
The last two weeks have seen Russell play some of his best ball of the season, and it’s coming at the ideal moment. Some believe that this proves the Lakers are too poor to deal him. In actuality, this is raising his value at the ideal moment and could increase the likelihood of a deal.
After observing Russell’s performance, the front office staff in Washington might be interested in signing him. Although D’Lo is by no means a long-term player for the Wizards, if he performs well in Washington, the team may attempt to trade him either at the deadline the following year or in the offseason, assuming he accepts his player option.
Nevertheless, the Wizards could easily convince themselves to add Russell in order to gain draft capital, and they have a few other interesting players they could send to the Hawks. This results in a three-team trade that can satisfy all parties.
Shall we dissect the trade and assign some grades?
