BBC REPORT: The Los Angeles Lakers’ potential signing, Anthony Davis, has accepted the current contract.

Anthony Davis is without a doubt one of the NBA’s most dominant players. The Los Angeles Lakers are a whole different basketball club when Davis is healthy, and they can be a nightmare to play against in a postseason series.

Because of how competitive the NBA is, Davis most likely finds himself on the outside looking in when it comes to ranking among the best ten players in the game. However, preparing for a playoff series against a player like Luka Doncic may be simpler than preparing for an AD opponent. Particularly when LeBron James is another concern.

Matching Davis with another big man is the one thing the Lakers haven’t quite sorted out since the 2020 championship season. The Lakers only required a rim protector who could give Nikola Jokic a little rough play in the 2020 Western Conference Finals. Dwight Howard was just that.

However, since then, there has been a constant turnover in the center position, and this turnover is probably going to continue because Christian Wood and Jaxson Hayes aren’t the best fits. The front staff, led by Rob Pelinka, is determined to find Anthony Davis a big guy to complement him.

On the trade market, the Lakers have the ideal running partner for Anthony Davis.

In theory, Davis would be best suited with a running partner who, like Wood, can spread the floor offensively but who isn’t a complete zero on defense (like Hayes). If the Lakers could combine their two current centers, they could have something truly unique.
